The Roland V-Drums TD12kx kit is a drum kit that features a variety of impressive pieces and is easy to control. It is a drum kit that is perfect for anyone who is looking for a high end type of electronic drum kit.

There are all sorts of different pieces that the TD12kx works with. It features a TD-12 Percussion Sound Module on its left side. This is a fully digital control panel that works to adjust sounds on all parts of the drum kit. It can also be used to record data and to allow a person to work with all sorts of instruction programs. In addition to this it works to create hundreds of different types of sounds of all sorts for every single part of the drum kit.

The control also uses the V-Edit feature to allow a person to record and edit different tunes. The fact that this can be easily linked up to a computer is a great benefit. The link can be used to get a person to work with a computer program that allows a person to record music and to edit the sounds that come from the device.

There are four tom pads on the drum kit. A VH-11 V-Hi-Hat is also featured here. This is a unique type of drum pad that works with electronic and acoustic hi-hat stands. Three different cymbal pads are also featured here. These cymbal pads can work with ride and crash features. A full kick drum with stand is also included in the central section of the drum kit. Practically every single important piece that is needed on a drum kit is featured here.

The kick drum uses a KD-120 V-Kick. This is one of the best features in that it creates a more realistic type of kicking motion that makes playing this set easier to handle. It also makes it easier for a person to learn how to work with this important part of a drum kit. Also, the kick pad is larger and easier for the user to control.

This electronic drum kit is a great kit to see. This is a drum kit that works with more features than that of other types of electronic drum kit and can work to create some of the most realistic sounds of any drum kit. Be sure to take a look at this kit when getting an electronic drum kit for one’s drumming needs.

Thank you for such an excellent site. A question though concerning introduction drumkits please.

I am looking for a good entry-level, progression-level electronic drum kit.

I have taken time to review your own, and other sites, recommendations. The Ion looks an interesting options, but is limited because it has to be connected to a computer (which were I am thinking of putting the kit wouldn’t be really practical). Other options that appear to gain good reviews are the Roand (e.g. Roland TD4KX) and Yamaha (e.g. DTXplorer) range. However, there is a considerable price difference in these two, and as you’d expect, I am waying-up the pros and cons of a good entry/progression kit with the cost and ensuring I don’t want to find that the entry level set first brought has a short shelf life).

Are these two reasonable options?; What alternatives would you suggest as well that are cheaper, or around the mark of these costs? Is the Roland really that good and worth expending so much money at this stage?

    Help very welcome.

The Roland is a great choice.
It’s easy to setup and can be expanded upon as your skills grow – it’s also a good size to fit comfortably in a spare bedroom without it taking up waaay too much room and looking a bit intimidating ;)
The Roland has a number of other presets that can help you along the way as you get started.
    Good luck with it!
