When it comes to purchasing a drum kit, a number of decisions need to be made. Aside from personal preferences for brand, layout, size and sound, the practicalities of owning a drum kit mean that certain models just aren’t an option.

The big issue is usually space. If you’ve got a garage, spare room or outbuilding that’s not being used then this is the perfect place for storing and using your drum kit. However, most people aren’t quite so fortunate and will have to make do with a section of room where they can move the furniture around and squeeze the drum kit as best as they can. A kit that’s easy to assemble is a must, as you might need to pack it away quite often if you’re sharing space in a room.

The OSP DD-502 electronic drum set is an ideal set for a beginner or drum enthusiast. The sound quality is good and the set is easy to assemble and dismantle, which means it’s ideal for playing gigs or taking to different locations for band practice. The kit is pretty comprehensive featuring a number of extras and plenty of connection options. There are 215 voices and 50 pre-set songs so there’s lots of potential for solo practice with a range of music. There’s also an impressive 20 pre-set kits to get you going. This is especially beneficial for beginners as it’s good to have a range of practice material when you’re starting out. There’s an LED display and the kit comes complete with drumsticks, power adapter and labelled cables, as well as the all-important operation manual.

All in all, the OSP is a great choice for the beginner, or anyone looking for a back-up kit for rehearsals or practice sessions. It also looks the part, which is imperative for any budding drummer.
